The minor suits (or arcana) is the starting point of Tarot and existed long before the major one. It is nothing less than the ancestor of today’s playing cards made of hearts and spades. Each card holds as many information as major arcana card but will usually be used as an auxilliary due to how difficult to read the minor suits are – especially in the Marseille tradition and non Rider Waite inspired decks.

hand_directionDid you know? Tarot was first used as a playing card game with the minor suit. In Italy and the South of France, these were soon used for Fortune Telling. The Major arcana was then added to that and used both for predictions and philosophical, legal and artistic studies during the Renaissance.
